It all began in 1966 when Felicidad Sy Tan and her kids founded a small grocery store in the Old Pasig Public Market. The Tan family began selling groceries in 1978 all throughout Pasig, Rizal, Taguig, and Pateros thanks to the modest grocery store—which wasn’t even big enough to fit an automobile.

The modest food store in Pasig’s back alleys was transformed into a supermarket after 22 years. In Rosario, Pasig City, the first supermarket, CityLane, opened its doors in 1988.
