Holy Eucharist Parish Mass Schedule
Similar to other Christian religions that express their confidence in the “food of life” contained in Jesus’ words in Scripture, the historical roots of Catholic eucharistic theology can be found there. These include the Church Fathers, later Christian authors, and the Hebrew and Christian scriptures. While the title “Eucharist” (derived from the Greek) refers to Christ’s extension of the Jewish Passover or “thanksgiving” supper, the gift of Communion—through which, according to Paul, he makes us into one body in him—came to represent God’s greatest gift, for which Christians are most grateful.
