International Supermarket Incorporated

The International Tea Co. was established in 1878 by Hudson Kearley (later Viscount Devonport) and Gilbert Augustus Tonged with the purpose of selling tea directly to customers as opposed to through wholesalers. The major blenders used by International were made by Ridgway’s, who joined the company in 1929 after purchasing Star Supply Stores.
