Gethsemane Parish
Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia, a conglomerate of Lutheran, Reformed, and United Protestant Calvinist congregations. The most well-known church in Prenzlauer Berg, a neighborhood in Berlin’s Pankow district, is Gethsemane Church. The Garden of Gethsemane (Old Aramaic: , transliterated Gath mnê; Hebrew: , translit. Gath mnîm, lit. “oil press”; transcription in Greek: v Gethsman) at the foot of the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem is where the church got its name. The Twelve Apostles and Jesus of Nazareth both prayed there on the eve of his crucifixion, and Christians respect the location today.
