The seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Fernando de La Union in the Philippines is the Cathedral of St. William the Hermit (Spanish: Catedral de San Guillermo el Ermitao), also known as the San Fernando Cathedral (Dioecesis Ferdinandopolitana ab Unione). The diocese, which includes the La Union civil province, was established on January 19, 1970, and on April 11, 1970, it was canonically established with Saint William the Hermit as its titular saint. It is a subdiocesan of the Lingayen-Dagupan Archdiocese. The church was previously governed by the Archdiocese of Nueva Segovia until the diocese was established.
